Advisory

Practical human resources advice that keeps your people practices compliant, consistent and working.

People issues are the most common source of business problems — inconsistent practices, compliance gaps, disputes that could have been prevented, and growth that outpaces the policies meant to support it.

Dawgen Global provides HR advisory services to Caribbean businesses: from establishing the right policies and compliance foundations through to complex issues, restructuring and ongoing outsourced HR support. We know the labour laws and practices of the territories we serve.

The challenge

Labour legislation across the Caribbean varies by territory and is enforced seriously — termination procedures, redundancy rules, statutory benefits and dispute processes all carry real cost when handled wrong. Many businesses manage HR informally, which works until the first tribunal claim, mass redundancy or audit of employment practices.

Who it is for

  • Growing businesses formalising their HR practices
  • Companies operating across territories with different labour laws
  • Organisations facing restructuring, redundancy or disputes
  • Businesses without dedicated HR capacity
  • Groups needing consistent people policies across subsidiaries

Signs you need us

  • Employment contracts and policies are outdated or inconsistent
  • Terminations are handled ad hoc, without documented process
  • You are planning a restructure or reduction in staff
  • A labour tribunal claim or ministry inquiry has been received
  • You employ staff across territories but apply one territory’s practices

How it works in practice

Illustrative example. A services company operating in three territories applied the same employment contracts everywhere — two territories’ statutory requirements were not met. We reviewed all employment documentation, issued territory-compliant contracts and handbooks, trained managers on disciplinary procedure, and now provide ongoing HR support. A subsequent tribunal claim was defended successfully on proper procedure.

Where we work

We offer all of our services in every territory we serve, with every engagement planned, reviewed and quality-controlled from our Caribbean headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica. Some regulated services are performed by affiliated firms; we will advise you of the arrangements when you make a request.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle recruitment?
We support recruitment with structured processes, contracts and onboarding; for executive search we can coordinate specialist recruiters.
Can you manage HR for us entirely?
Yes. Many clients use us as an outsourced HR function — policies, administration, advice and issue management for a fixed arrangement.
How do labour laws differ across the territories?
Termination procedures, notice periods, redundancy entitlements and statutory benefits differ significantly. We build territory-correct practices into your documentation.
We are planning redundancies. What do we need?
Correct procedure is essential: proper consultation, selection criteria, notice and payments. We manage the process end to end.
How are your fees set?
Our fees are tailored to each client, based on the scope and complexity of the work and the agreed deliverables, and are set out in your engagement letter.
